ABOUT US

We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints living and serving right here in Rocklin and Granite Bay.

While this is not an official site of the Church, it’s managed and maintained with love by members who live here. We come from 9 different congregations that gather in 4 different meetinghouses throughout Rocklin and Granite Bay, and visitors are always welcome. In the meantime, we hope you’re able to find uplifting content here and on our various social media profiles.

My name is Trici Jones and I am in the Granite Bay 1st Ward. This picture was taken a few weeks ago after we took our oldest daughter, Diana, through the temple in preparation for her full-time mission service. It was a beautiful day watching her take the next step on the covenant path. It was also a big week for me because a few days later I served my first shift in the temple as a baptistry laundry worker. I have been interested in working in the temple the past year, as I set a goal to attend the temple more regularly. Going to the temple more often made me keenly aware of the wonderful people who serve there, who give their time and energy to making service in the house of the Lord a priority.

Then attending last fall's Stake Conference, with the added emphasis on serving in the temple, I left feeling inspired to make my name available for service. After learning more, I wasn't sure if I could make the weekly time commitment with younger kids still at home, so thought I might have to wait. A few days later, I ran into Liz Bradford from Granite Bay in the temple parking lot, and she said she had just finished her laundry shift. She gave me more details, including the twice a month commitment schedule. That would work for me! And I actually really enjoy doing laundry! Perfect.

My name was submitted and approved for service, and I was ready and excited to begin. It is a privilege to greet each temple patron as they enter the baptistry, especially the youth groups. Watching them come in, with names in their hands, ready to do their ancestors' work...is inspiring. They are smiling and just shine with the light of the Savior. In between groups, I am able to sit, ponder, read scripture and just enjoy the peace of the temple (with the hum of the dryers in the background 😊). My heart is full with gratitude to the Lord for these hours spent in His house. I would encourage anyone, at any stage of life, to look for an opportunity to serve in the temple.
