Just a quick reminder that RootsTech 2021 starts this Thursday! Registration is free and available at www.rootstech.org. Check out the video below for a behind-the-scenes look of what we can expect to get out of RootsTech this year:
If you don’t have time to watch the video, here are a few highlights:
- There are over 800 20-minute classes “on demand.” They have asked people to shorten to twenty minutes and really move along unlike they would in a live presentation because people can start and stop the video and take notes.
- There will be many 3-minute “tips and tricks” videos to watch
- The “Main Stage” events will start Wednesday night and be ongoing 24-hours for the entire conference. Those presenters will be translated into 11 languages.
- You can choose which classes you want and make a playlist.
- All courses will be available online on-demand for at least a year
- Many of the classes will be delivered in the presenter’s native language and will be presented via YouTube and you can get subtitles and translation as an option through Youtube.
- There will be an Expo Hall tab where you can see the same things you’d see at the Convention Center: demos, special offers, products, presentations
- Each course will have a chatroom where you can ask questions or make comments.
- There will be a feature where you can chat with anyone else at the conference including presenters and see who you are related to and connect with them. There will be a map to see all your relatives around the world who are registered and how you are related and even send them a message.
- Handouts and outlines for the courses, if the presenter has them, will be downloadable (registration required).
